Happiness is a state of our mind

Positive state of mind is very important for our happiness. Let’s see a few tips which we can follow on an everyday basis to achieve a happy state of mind and in turn have a more happy and fulfilled life .

Tip 1– Appreciate all the good in your life. 

There is so much goodness in your life and you are enjoying many things which others don’t. You have people in your life who love you and care for you. God has bestowed each one of you with many different good things. See goodness in yourself and others too. 

If you see anything which you like, say, “Ah!! this is so beautiful!!”. This seems very simple, but it sure leaves great positivity in your mind. 

Do you understand this gift of life?

Our default dialogue of mind should always be positive and never negative. If things do not happen our way or people do not respond our way, you can just focus on their positive sides. Sentiments of appreciation always help our mind to stay positive. Develop a tendency to see positive in all and you will see wonders happening in your life.

So, make it a daily practice to appreciate all the things and people in your lives. Talk about it!

Tip 2– Be grateful for the blessing in your life. 

You should be grateful even for a simple food on your plate! Imagine how many people have worked so that you can enjoy the food on your plate? Starting from the farmer who sowed the seeds to the grocery seller in your area. When you don’t show gratitude for the food, you are not respecting the work and energies of all these people who worked in supplying you the food. So, be grateful for everything in your life. Don’t take anything or anyone for granted. 

Be thankful, be humble and be respectful to all people and things around you on an everyday basis. This will make positivity reign in your mind.

Tip 3– Be empathetic to others. 

If you share your love and emotions with others, it will only grow. Shower others with your love and care. The more love you give, the more love will grow and you will be filled with more love. Develop a loving and caring disposition. If you don’t share your love with others, it will reduce in you. There are many ways you can show your love, by giving your time, attention, acknowledgement, etc.

ॐ पूर्णमदः पूर्णमिदम् पूर्णात् पूर्णमुदच्यते |

पूर्णस्य पूर्णमादाय पूर्णमेवावशिष्यते |

ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः |

Meaning of this mantra is:

Om, That is complete, This is complete, from the completeness comes the completeness.

If completeness is taken away from completeness, Only completeness remains.

Om, Peace peace peace.

So, always include people in your life and share love more and more with them. 

Tip 4– Engage your mind.

Do activities which deeply engage your mind. It will produce a vast amount of happiness and fulfillment in your life. Do the activities which give you inner happiness, which makes you feel complete. These activities develop a higher level of bliss. These can be very simple things that bring you pleasure like gardening, cooking, handicrafts, reading, etc. Meditation is also one thing through which you can achieve this state of mind.

Spend some time in meditation everyday.

In crux, understand that it is the mind that brings us the happiness and bringing our mind into a happy state is in our hands.
