Meditate daily

First of all, I would like to address certain myths about meditation. What is meditation?

Meditation does not only mean closing your eyes and focusing on one thing. So, focusing or concentrating is not only meditation. Meditation is much beyond that.

Meditation means being 100% present in what you are doing, be it any small thing.

Right now, I am writing this blog, if I am giving it my 100% concentration, I am into the meditation stage. So, generally people have this fear that meditation is not their cup of tea. But it’s no so. Meditation is quite simple, it’s not a big deal. I repeat, just be in the present moment in whatever you are doing right now, be 100% with it and you will in the meditation stage.

So, in your daily routine, whatever you do, give your 100% attention and concentration to it, and it becomes a meditation. Conclusion, if we do all our daily routine activities giving our 100% to it, we live in a series of meditation stages. Our life becomes a series of meditation, serene and harmonious.

“You have a treasure within you that is infinitely greater than anything the world can offer.” – Eckhart Tolle.

Now, let’s study what meditation does to your mind and body.

When you are meditating, it means you are 100% present into that moment in whatever you are doing. Your mind knows how to be present in that moment. Because it is 100% into what you are doing right now without thinking of any past event or future anxiety. It’s just NOW for your mind. So, your mind is totally occupied with what you are doing at that moment. So, it is in a state of bliss, happiness and perfection. And in this moment your mind and body have a very strong connection. If the mind is perfect, the body automatically becomes perfect. If the mind feels blissful, the body feels strong and supported. If the mind feels happy, the body feels energetic. If the mind has a reason to smile, the body also smiles. It feels so light and fresh.

If the mind and body are aligned together, the soul which is the essence of our life, becomes active and it guides us through the core of life. Our soul starts speaking when our mind is quiet. We then realize the purpose of our life.

“Meditation is not evasion; it is a serene encounter with reality.”’ – Thich Nhat Hanh.

Everyone in this world has come with a purpose. Realizing the purpose is the work of the soul. This can be realized if the mind and body are in perfect harmony with each other. And if we want to keep our mind and body in harmony with each other, we need to keep our mind happy, healthy and harmonious. This is easily achievable through simple meditation. Here simple meditation means just be 100% in whatever you are doing. That’s all! Meditation is not rocket science. If you are talking to your best friend, you really enjoy it. You forget about all your miseries because at that time you are 100% in it! That means, you are in the present moment, you forget about the past and you are not aware of the future. You are just in that moment and that becomes meditation for you.

“Praying is talking to the Universe. Meditation is listening to it.” –  Paulo Coelho.

Meditation gives perfection in everything. So, now onwards, whatever you do, just remember to give your 100% to it. If you are cooking, be one with the ingredients and the stirrer, if you are reading, be one with words, if you are speaking, be one with the sound, if you are writing, be on with the movement of your hands…and so on.

So, meditate daily to experience greater calm, serenity, clarity and focus in life.
